Pay full price for Battlefield 3.5 on Frostbite Engine 2.5, and then pay again full price for Battlefield 3.5 Premium? Rip-off! Nope, I will not buy it, but I will try the game in the beta.

With BF3 I have as much fun as on the first day and there are many unlocks and rank ups left, so I don't need a new Battlefield.
They should fix the few Bugs/Glitches in BF3 and wait with a new Battlefield game.

But maybe Battlefield "4" will be great for next-gen consoles, I don't know - I don't have/like consoles.

My opinion. :D

What they need to do first and foremost, is to tweak the class balances. As of right now, the Assault class is the best class hands down. Just looking at the classes on paper, you can see that the Recon class is the weakest one.
What they need to do, IMO, is to bring back the Medic class all together as they had it in BF2. And perhaps give the Recon class back it's C4.
The only real thing that buffs the Recon class is perhaps the xbow, which is a good thing, I suppose.

Regarding Suppression as a concept, I love it. But for the love of something Holy, get rid of the actual function that makes your bullets come out of your barrel at a 45 degree angle. Keep the screen blurr. That's really something I can live with.

Aaand to the biggest issue of them all, hit registration. Managing to get out of a bullet storm and in to cover only to DIE behind said cover, is something that have really bummed me out more than a handful of times.
It IS, as of now, the single biggest problem with BF3. That is because it's handled client side, as supposed to server side.

What they need to do, as well, is to bring in a implemented support system for e-sports. A working spectator mode, perhaps some kind of screen capture system. That would be awesome.
If they were to make something like that, they need to start working on their map designs. Well balanced maps that are tailor made for each game mode. Not how it is like now, where Metro on CQ is a meatgrinder and so forth.

If they can work out these issues, they'd have a decent chance of creating the next big AAA-shooter that everyone will love.

IMO the whole concept need to go, it will just drive BF4 away from the E-sport scene. For me this blur is exactly the same you get when you read a book with out glasses. Sooner or later you will get headache and you'll have to close the book. The same is happening with their ugly art direction.
Only thing we need is good sound, the sound allone should give you a feeling that you are suppressed. We don't need blur to tell us someone is shooting at us.

Well, considering the concept from an e-sports point of view, I agree with you. But when it comes to the casual, pub games it's a fun addition - when done right. As of now it's absolutely disgusting, though.

so E3 is underway and I really like what I see.

first of all I don't care about falling skyscrapers and all that kind of stuff. eyecandy is not my cup of tea.

but the customization options are great, there is a spectator mode, and although I don't like the concept of the Commander, it's good to see that the game is progressing.

revised netcode, new weapons, ingame VOIP, no unlimited ammo for vehicles, and when you reload your gun, you lose the whole magazine, with the bullets left in it.

they also said that there is going to be a second DLC with 4 maps from Battlefield 3. all good news for me.

I think BF4 is rocking E3!!

Commander is a successful feature from Desert Combat, BF2 and BF2142. Good that they finaly bring it back.
